Noll Daniel

Crow in the Tree Pose

Born in 1954, Noll Daniel, R.Y.T., was raised in the San Francisco Bay area during the 60's and 70's. He studied Art, Theater and Dance at Monterey Peninsula College and the University of California at Santa Cruz. He became a player in the budding fitness movement in LA in the 80's, training and teaching aerobics, then Pilates method at Elan Studios in Brentwood. Searching for a gentler more natural approach to exercise and general well being, Noll turned to Yoga. He started his practice with Billy Porter (founder of the Urban Yoga Workout) where he received certification in 1985.

With the dream of opening a yoga studio on the east coast, Noll moved to New York in 1987 and began teaching the Urban Yoga Workout at Body by Jake, Crunch Fitness, John Jay College and the corporate gyms of American Express and HBO. Noll Daniel's Urban Yoga Workout Studio in New York was opened from 1993 to 1998. In 1997 he trained with Alan Finger at Yoga Zone where he was a senior instructor and mentor for new instructors for 5 years (1997-2002). He also leads popular classes at the Sports Center at Chelsea Piers and Reebok Sports Club NY and works with private clients in New York.

Some of Noll's clientele have included Rosanna Arquette, Isabella Rosselini, Marsha Mason, Kim Carnes, Mary Louise Parker, Woody Harrleson, Michasel O'Keefe, John Schlesinger, Liv Tyler, and John Lithgow among others. He has been featured in Newsweek, Self, Vogue, G.Q., Men's Health, Yoga Journal and many other periodicals and newspapers. He is a principal model in Yoga Zone's "introduction to Yoga" book and has been featured in yoga news stories on CNN, ESPN, and Fox. Most recently, Noll appeared on "Live with Regis and Kelly" during their "Wellness Week" series.
