"I teach a lot of yoga classes, and I have been playing with new ways to do
yoga," says Noll Daniel. So he created Soul 2 Soul Partner Yoga for Chelsea Piers' Sports Center.
By working with others, practitioners can refine their forms and heighten their senses. "When working with a partner,
you need to keep a sense of your own weight and lightness," he says. "Along with that, stay sensitive to your partner."
After a 20-minute warmup, one person can, for example, do a downward dog with his feet
placed on the back of his partner, who is also in a downward dog. Ultimately, says Daniel, "I
want them to feel that they left having a good time with their partner." For those
who want to explore on their own, he recommends "Partner Yoga" by Cain Carroll, Lori Kimata and Peter D'Adamo.
